RADM Boris Lushniak, MD, MPH, former U.S. Acting Surgeon General (July 17, 2013–December 15, 2014) was a clinician interested in occupational health and environmental medicine, and wanted to see the world. His decision to devote 2 years to EIS helped shape his public health career.
