Rapeseed (Brassica napus), also acknowledged as rape, oilseed rape, rapa, rappi, rapaseed (and, in the scenario of 1 individual team of cultivars, canola), is a bright yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae (mustard or cabbage family). The title derives from the Latin for turnip, rāpa or rāpum, and is 1st recorded in English at the end of the 14th century. Older writers typically distinguished the turnip and rape by the adjectives spherical and extensive (-rooted), respectively. See also Brassica napobrassica, which may well be thought of a wide range of Brassica napus. Some botanists include things like the carefully linked Brassica campestris inside of B. napus.
